Night Diving
In the world of scuba diving there are many exciting and amazing different types of dives you can choose from to add to your scuba diving experiences. One of the most exciting is night scuba diving. Night diving is a whole new world underwater, you can do a night dive at a place you would normally scuba dive in during the day and it can seem like a new place entirely. This is because you will be immersed in the night life of the oceans, which can be much different from the animals and behaviors that you would observe during a dive in daylight.
Once you decide that scuba diving at night is an adventure that is right for most will need to take an instructional course for your first night dive. When you are learning to take on a night dive there are certain things you should keep in mind especially if you are not going with a trainer lead group. During a night dive you will be using a dive light and while it is important to always have your dive light working it is especially important on an underwater adventure in the dead of night, so remember to always have a spare set of new batteries with you. You will also want to show up early for most night dives, this will give you plenty of time to get ready while there is still light out side and be sure you are aware of your surroundings and environment. Other helpful tips for night diving include always packing a back up light source, snacks, knowing the laws of after dark fishing, boating and diving as well as seeking out good expert training.
Training is especially important when planning a night time scuba adventure as many aspects of night dives are very different from those of a day time dive. As you are training for your new adventure you will want to be sure that you are paying close attention to those different aspects of scuba diving that are involved with night diving. This information usually given in your night diving course is very important and if you don’t understand or miss something be sure to ask the instructor to go over it again this is paramount for your safety. Most night diving courses will cover the area that you are going to be exploring, the rules and safety precautions, all equipment and new equipment that you will need as well as how to use that equipment.
All in all night diving in the sport of scuba diving is a wonderful and exciting adventure that will show you new and amazing aspect of the underwater environment that truly comes to life after the sun has set and a new scene starts to unfold before your eyes.
